Conditions of service
1. All terms and conditions laid out here are considered as agreed on acceptance of the service being provided and form the basis of this service. Any quotation / booking forms used must show both the collection and delivery addresses of the caravan.
2. As caravanners ourselves we know how important your van is to you and we commit to looking after your caravan as if it were our own.
3. A deposit may be requested at point of booking at our discretion. Full payment is due in advance of the service being provided. Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer.
4. Notification of cancellation of any booking must be received at least 14 days in advance of collection date for any deposit to be refunded. If cancellation is not received at least 14 days in advance of collection any refund is at our discretion.
5. Caravans being transported must be roadworthy and in a serviceable condition suitable and legal for towing on public roads. Tyres, hitchlock, braking mechanism, lights and electrics must be in good working order and comply with current legislation. Tyres must be less than seven years old and free from any damage. Where a caravan is found to be unroadworthy collection / delivery will be refused. Where this happens, a refund will be provided on any payments over £200.
6. Your caravan is fully insured to cover all eventualities and covered by our Goods in Transit Insurance (up to £60,000 in value) and Public Liability Insurance (£1,000,000) policies. These are available for viewing on request.
7. During transport we will look after your caravan with the utmost care as if it were our own and in compliance with all UK laws with regards to driving on public highways. Accidents, however, do happen and are covered through the provision of the correct insurance. We aim to provide a great service and ensure safety on the road at all times to minimize any risk of this occurring.
8. Caravan electrics must be N/S 7 pin or EU 13 pin and be in good working order.
9. An approved anti-hitching device must be available for operation on longer journeys to ensure caravan can be secured if left unattended.
10. All caravans being moved must be sufficiently packed and/or stowed and/or protected for the rigours of transit.
11. A full inspection of your caravan will be undertaken prior to departure and recorded. Photographs / video will be taken to record the condition of your caravan, including any damage. A checklist will be completed covering several pre-towing requirements (e.g., all windows locked, inside cupboards closed, tyre pressure suitable, nose weight acceptable). On completion of pre-departure inspection, a signature is required to acknowledge agreement to the completed checks and these terms and conditions. This can be yourself or a representative acting on your behalf. Refusal to sign the record of inspection will result in the service being cancelled and no refund will be provided. Photographs may be used in marketing material to demonstrate jobs undertaken. Identifiable customer information will not be included without your consent.
12. On delivery of the caravan a further inspection will be undertaken. Photographs / video will be taken to record the condition of your van. A delivery checklist will be completed and requires signed confirmation of delivery reflecting no damage has occurred during transport. This can be signed by yourselves or a representative acting on your behalf. Should any damage have occurred this will be recorded and we will work with you to resolve.
13. All caravan and lock keys will be carried on the driver’s person or stored in a locked container within the towing vehicle.
14. The following exclusions apply and are not covered by our insurance: -
a. Wear and tear, scratching, bruising, chipping, denting and cost of repainting.
b. Damage to tyres, punctures, cuts or bursts unless caused by an accident.
c. Damage caused by or attributable to mechanical, electrical and/or electronic breakdown, malfunction or failure of the vehicle being towed.
d. Loss or damage attributable to insufficient and / or malfunction of the tailgate light clusters
e. Loss or damage arising from rust, oxidation, discoloration, corrosion, scratching, denting, bruising, pre-existing damage and defects on any second hand or pre-used equipment.
15. We will work with you to offer a service that moves your caravan safely at a time that suits you to your required destination. In order to complete pre-delivery and post-delivery inspections we require you, or a representative on your behalf, to be available to review and sign inspection documentation. Payment must be made in full prior to the transport of your caravan. Payment can be made by cash or bank transfer.
16. Written estimates will be provided on request. On booking full confirmation will be provided in writing. A deposit of £50 may be required, at our discretion, to secure your booking and will be deducted from final payment.
17. Where we are unable to deliver your caravan on the date requested due to unforeseen circumstances, e.g., high winds, unsuitable weather conditions, etc. we will work with you to arrange an alternative date. If no alternative date can be agreed a full refund will be provided.
18. Any journeys that cannot be completed within 12 hours or same day will attract an overnight fee for B&B accommodation or campsite charges.
19. The service being provided is to move your caravan to your destination point. This does not include levelling of your van or connection to water, electrics, etc. We will assist to move the caravan on to a pitch with the additional levelling, etc. being your responsibility. Where we cannot gain practical or safe access (e.g., uneven ground, muddy/wet grass, etc.) your caravan will be delivered to the nearest practical delivery point as close to your destination as possible.
20. In the event of a breakdown we hold RAC Business Breakdown cover: -
a. Where the breakdown is due to a fault with the car the RAC will attempt a repair to the vehicle. Where this is not possible the RAC will recover the car and caravan to destination.
b. Where the breakdown is due to a fault with the caravan that has not been caused by the driver the RAC will attempt a roadside repair, however, if this is not possible a charge will be levied for the recovery of the caravan to a destination.
